5. Background & Rationale:

Unemployment and lack of vocational skills continue to trap many individuals, especially women and youth, in cycles of poverty. AHEAD Foundation’s Livelihood Training Program aims to provide market-relevant skills and entrepreneurial support to underprivileged individuals, empowering them to earn a dignified income and contribute meaningfully to society.

6. Objectives:

• Train youth and women in job-oriented and income-generating skills

• Promote self-employment and micro-entrepreneurship

• Improve financial literacy and access to economic opportunities

• Enhance community resilience through economic participation

• Unemployed and underemployed youth

• Women from low-income households

• School/college dropouts

• Individuals from rural and tribal backgrounds

a) Vocational Skills:

• Tailoring, embroidery, handicrafts

• Beauty and wellness services

• Basic computer and digital skills

• Food processing & catering

• Mobile repair, plumbing, and electrical basics

b) Entrepreneurship Development:

• Business planning and setup

• Market linkage support

• Exposure visits to local enterprises

• Training in e-commerce and digital marketing

c) Soft Skills & Financial Literacy:

• Communication, teamwork, and problem-solving

• Budgeting and personal finance

• Banking procedures and access to credit

• Mobilization: Field workers engage communities through awareness campaigns

• Training: Conducted in batches by certified trainers at local centers

• Assessment: Pre- and post-training evaluations
